Team

As a general practitioner (GP) I get an intimate look in personal lives. That’s why I believe it’s important for you to feel being taken seriously. I also value that our relationship is based on trust. A clear understanding of your expectations from the GP is also valuable for me. To some of us a mild cough may just disturb a night’s rest, to others it may cause fear of illness. So the same symptoms found with different people demand a unique perspective on the steps solving the problem. That perspective is what I am looking for, so I can adapt my approach to your situation. I take into account your personal circumstances and additional illnesses to come up with a tailored treatment plan. This, to me, is tailor-made healthcare. I studied at the department of vocational training for general practice at the UvA-AMC, after which I worked as a GP in New Zealand and Amsterdam.

I think it is important to be accessible as a GP. I want my patients to feel that they can discuss everything with me. In this way, a relationship of trust can arise that is so important to me in order to provide good care. Care that is in line with your expectations and experiences. In short; care that is accessible, personal and in consultation with my patients. That is what I stand for. I also studied at the UvA-AMC. After receiving my diploma in 2008, I worked as an emergency physician at a first aid clinic. After I finished my GP training I worked for a few years as a GP in the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam and shortly on Curacao.

I joined the clinic in August 2021. As a GP I have a holistic vision on health and am interested in your body, mind and environment. I find it important that you feel at ease and heard, and in competent hands. I enjoy the diversity of the profession and continuity of care.

My training as a GP was at VUMC in Amsterdam. I have been a GP for 16 years now, of which 10 years in Amsterdam and the past 6 years in Malawi, Africa. Prior to being a GP, I worked in Pakistan and Afghanistan as a tropical doctor. I have also taught Family Medicine at the UvA/AMC and in Malawi. My areas of interest are psychiatry and pediatric care.

I have been part of the Huisartsen Sarphatipark team since 2023 with great pleasure. I was trained at the VUmc and graduated as a GP in 2019. Before I became a GP, I worked in intensive care and in acute psychiatry. I also studied preventive care in Canada. As a GP, I like to view your complaint and/or health question from a broader, holistic perspective. I would like to build a lasting bond with you in order to provide good care. Every person has their story and I like to respond to that. I really enjoy the profession because of the variety of acute care, chronic care and palliative care. As a general practitioner, I learn something new every day!

I have been working in the practice since 2019. I am a committed doctor who likes to think along her patients and tries to listen carefully to the complaint and the question. An open atmosphere with mutual trust and respect is very important to me. I finished my training as a GP at the UvA-AMC in 2016. Since I have been working as a GP in and around Amsterdam. Before that I worked as a military doctor for 5 years.

I have have been working here with great pleasure since 2023! Before my training as a GP, which I did at the UvA-AMC in Amsterdam, I worked in gynecology, surgery and pediatrics. I also worked for 2 years as a tropical doctor in Namibia. For me, the variety and diversity of working in general medicine make it beautiful and interesting. I see it as a privilege to come to a good solution together with you. Mutual trust and honesty are of great importance, a touch of humor and ability to put things into perspective are essential!

GP in training

As a GP in training, I will enjoy being part of the practice for the next year. After completing my medical studies in Groningen, I worked within surgery and then did doctoral research in the field of breast cancer. In addition, in recent years I have studied the recovery of long-term symptoms after concussion and completed a two-year course in lifestyle medicine. I am a curious and engaged doctor and I believe it is important to pay attention to the whole person. With a holistic view, I do my best to work with you to find a solution that fits your personal situation.
